The Newlywed Game Explained

So, at many bridal showers you play the Newlywed Game, which I secretly really wanted to play but was afraid to ask for. My Aunt Sandy emailed Tyree questions about me and he answered them and at the shower the ladies asked me the questions and compared his answers with mine.
Possibly the moment that needed the most explanation was his answer that Salma Hayek was my favorite actor. This is not true, and Tyree knows it. It was a joke. Salma's classy Campari ads always feature a shadowy, rugged figure that could or could not be Tyree. I started writing fake love notes from Salma to Tyree over these ads and pretended to be upset by them. It's a lot of fun. Who is my real favorite actor? Click on the questions to make them bigger. My answers are in red, his are in black.

Bridal Shower

April 12th, Aunt Sandy, Suzann and Anne Boynton threw my bridal shower. It was lots of fun. We drank lots of mimosas and played all the traditional shower games...

One bridal shower tradition is this ugly bouquet. You make it with all the ribbons from the gifts.

I actually tried to make mine look a little better. You are supposed to use it as a mock bouquet during the wedding rehersal.

En un mundo Absolut

I first heard about this ad from a crawler on Fox News (hey, I like to know what the enemy is thinking) so I had to see it for myself. It's an ad for vodka...an Absolut World is meant to be a Perfect World. The ad ran only in Mexico before it was pulled because it recieved complaints from Americans.

The map is not invented. The green is Mexico prior to the Mexican-American War. California, Colorado, Texas and all that lies in between, used to be a part of Mexico. All the people living there were also considered Mexican. The land was lost during the war, but there is still alot of sensitivity there. A lot of Mexicans who cross the border illegally, consider the border itself to be illegal. Whatever side of history you're on...for Americans to become so angry about a vodka ad makes us appear both humorless and ignorant of our own history.
